WEB Access Manager
The WEB Access Manager is an application that
manages access to your server controlled web site and provides services
to handle requests. This application consists of three major components.
The first is a set of WEB server service routines
that handle CGI requests. These are a collection of COBOL routines
that validate user signon, handle the connection management for
any Browser, and handle all the [Submit] requests initiated by the
user. These requests may be handled directly, passed to another
server to be processed, or they can be logged as an E-Request Job
to be dealt with when time permits.
The second component is a Windows GUI "Back-End"
application that manages WEB User profiles, monitors access to the
WEB site, and logs the requests that might be initiated by WEB browser.
At any time, a query routine will display a list of all users connected,
and show what functions are being performed. There is also an historic
WEB Connect query that displays statistics over the past.
The third component is the E-Request Job Server.
This program actually processes any requests that were placed in
the job queue by the CGI routines. These jobs would typically require
extensive processing requirements not suitable for execution by
the CGI server, or requests that need to be processed on a different
operating system, or those that can be done later. The WEB Request
Server executes either under UNIX or Windows.
