Report Generation and Printing Subroutine
The Printer Management routines consists of a
set of utilities and subroutines that are provided for the management,
generation and archiving of reports from ACUCOBOL-GT®
applications. The SH_PRINTROUTINE handles all aspects
of generating and printing reports, forms, invoices, etc, that might
traditionally by output to a printer of some sort. Along with the
Printer Queue Manager, the Captured Window Printer Manager, the
Report Browser and the Archived Reports Manager, this routine will
introduce a great deal of flexibility and capability to an application.
Along with the subroutine it self, a number of
COBOL COPY files are provided, that can
easily be integrated into an application's programs. Instead of
developing a program that directly opens a PRINT
file, and issues WRITE statements, you
would code PERFORM statements to paragraphs
found in the COPY files. These in turn would make calls to the SH_PRINTROUTINE.
The SH_PRINTROUTINE module can
be used for generating reports on any Windows or UNIX based operating
system, or can be used for reports generated by a WEB Server.

- As reports are being generated, a Progress Bar is displayed
that offers a [Cancel] Push Button so the operator can interrupt
the process prior to the listing being printed
