Broadcast Messages Manager
This utility lets you define messages that will
be displayed to users when they sign on to, or off from, the set
of applications. There is also a an Emergency message that can be
sent to users signed on to any of the applications.
A Broadcast Messages record is maintained. When
users sign on or off the system, the Main Menu program will determine
a message has been set up or not, and displays it accordingly. For
the Emergency messages to be displayed, programs associated to any
of the application need to make the appropriate subroutine call
when accepting any screen fields. (A generic routine is provided
that is used to obtain and validate the value of ESCAPE CODES that
the operator might have struck. This routine test to see if an Emergency
message is defined, and displays it if necessary).
