Search and Replace Processing
This is a generic subroutine that provides the
operator interface for processing Search and Replace functions.
The calling program provides tables, that are passed to the subroutine,
indicating the field names and types that are to be searched or
replaced. A variety of different conditions may be chosen, and you
may select to have the candidate records previewed prior to the
actual replacement phase. The calling program manages the processing
of the records being scanned and replaced. The subroutine manages
the selection of options, the file holding the “Preview Candidates”,
the testing for eligibility, and the selection of records that are
to have fields replaced.
