Users' Access Maintenance
Individual User Access privileges may be set
up for each application. Only those users that have a User Profile
record established can access the application. Then for each menu
function, individual access rights may be assigned.
Access properties are maintained using a tree
display. Each node in the first level of the tree represents an
individual. The second level nodes represent each of the top level
menu items found on the application's screen, and the third level
of the tree is for each individual function.
Key Benefits
- Using a Tree Structure provides a visual display of the
rights that are allocated to individuals makes it easy to
maintain
- By building the Application's menu and the User Access
Tree structure from the same table, adding new menu items
is a simple task
- The use of colours for indicating access rights makes
it very clear what menu items are accessible, or not, for
each user
